Later report corrects the man’s condition
The Los Angeles Times reported at 7:19 p.m. that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified the man as the victim’s dating partner and said he had forced entry into the residence before the shooting. Authorities said he fled to Pasadena and shot himself as officers prepared to contact him.
