Los Angeles County sheriff’s investigators are searching for two masked people after an early-Sunday attack at a Bellflower smoke shop involving gunfire and a Molotov cocktail, NBC Los Angeles reported September 27. Deputies were called to The Spot Smok Shop on Somerset Boulevard shortly before 4:30 a.m. after receiving a report of shots fired.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the two people fired at an employee before throwing the incendiary device into the business and running away. Bulletproof glass kept the employee from being struck, authorities said, and no injuries were reported. The device started a fire, but the extent of any property damage was not immediately known.
