Brandon Ingram to miss start of Clippers season after surgery
The newly acquired forward is recovering from an operation that addressed a right heel injury and a partially torn Achilles tendon; the team has not set a return date.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Brandon Ingram will miss the start of the 2026–27 season while recovering from surgery on his right heel and a partially torn Achilles tendon, ESPN reported through ABC7 Los Angeles on September 28. Interim general manager Trent Redden disclosed the injury update during the Clippers' media day.
What it means locally
Doctors discovered and treated the previously undisclosed Achilles injury when Ingram underwent heel surgery in May, according to Redden. The 29-year-old missed the final two games of Toronto's first-round playoff series because of the heel injury, then joined the Clippers this month with guard Gradey Dick in the trade that sent Kawhi Leonard to the Raptors. Redden said there is no timetable for Ingram's return.
