Clippers' Max Strus to be reevaluated in four weeks after foot injury
The newly acquired wing sustained a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot during Los Angeles' preseason opener in Hawaii.
Los Angeles Clippers wing Max Strus will be reevaluated in four weeks after tests confirmed a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot, ESPN reported October 5. The non-contact injury occurred about five minutes into Sunday's preseason opener against the Golden State Warriors in Honolulu.
Injury: Partial tear of the right plantar fascia
Next evaluation: Four weeks
Regular-season opener: October 21 against Sacramento
What it means for the Clippers
Strus pulled up while cutting across the lane to receive a pass, struggled to put weight on his right foot and left for the locker room after coach Tyronn Lue called timeout. ESPN reported that imaging after the team returned to Los Angeles confirmed the injury.
The setback adds to an early-season injury list that includes Brandon Ingram, who is recovering from heel surgery and treatment of a partially torn Achilles tendon, and Bradley Beal, who has been dealing with right-knee inflammation. A four-week reevaluation is not a guaranteed return date.
