Crooked Duck marks 15 years as a Long Beach gathering place
Owner Joey Rooney says longtime employees and loyal customers have helped the Los Altos neighborhood restaurant endure.
The Crooked Duck has reached its 15th year serving breakfast and lunch in Long Beach's Los Altos neighborhood, ABC7 reported Friday.
Location: 5096 E. Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach
Hours: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily
Known for: Corned beef hash, Monte Cristo sandwiches and breakfast plates
A neighborhood fixture
The restaurant occupies a former house that later served as a beauty salon. ABC7 reported that its menu and casual setting have built a regular following, with corned beef hash among the dishes customers singled out.
Rooney credited the restaurant's staying power to both the community and employees who have remained with the business over the years. The anniversary places a local spotlight on a small business that has grown into a gathering place without leaving its neighborhood roots.
