Dodgers secure No. 2 seed and first-round postseason bye

The Los Angeles Dodgers secured the National League’s No. 2 postseason seed and a first-round bye, MLB.com reported early September 25. Atlanta’s loss to Cincinnati clinched a top-two NL record for Los Angeles before Thursday’s game, and the Dodgers’ 4–2 loss to San Diego later fixed them behind No. 1 Milwaukee at 97–62.

The bye advances the Dodgers directly to a best-of-five National League Division Series beginning October 3, with home-field advantage. They will face the winner of the Wild Card Series hosted by the NL East champion Braves.
