Fontana police arrest 13-year-old after shooting leaves one dead
Police say an 18-year-old was killed and two younger teens were injured in the Wednesday evening shooting on Cypress Avenue.
Fontana officers responded at about 6:10 p.m. Wednesday to the 9900 block of Cypress Avenue, where they found three teenage boys who had been shot, according to CBS Los Angeles’ report on information from the Fontana Police Department.
Victims: Boys ages 12, 15 and 18
Police response: About 6:10 p.m. October 21
Location: 9900 block of Cypress Avenue, Fontana
The 18-year-old died at the scene. The 12- and 15-year-old victims were taken to a hospital and later released, police said.
Juvenile booked in homicide investigation
Police said they later arrested a 13-year-old and booked him into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder. Authorities had not publicly described a possible motive or the events leading to the shooting as of Thursday night.
The arrest is an allegation and does not establish guilt. Because the suspect is a juvenile, his identity was not released.
Investigators asked anyone with information to contact Fontana Police Detective Samuel Saenz at 909-854-8106 or ssaenz@fontanaca.gov.
