A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck just offshore near Hermosa Beach at about 8:40 a.m. Sunday, ABC7 Los Angeles reported September 27, citing the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was about 3.7 miles west-southwest of the city at a depth of roughly 7.4 miles.

The USGS received more than 100 reports from people who felt shaking, especially along the Los Angeles County coast. No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
