Kaiser said the affected positions do not provide direct patient care and that the changes will not affect the quality of care or service for members. The company said it is helping affected employees look for other jobs within Kaiser and will provide severance, career support and outplacement services where appropriate. The remaining cuts are in Pleasanton, Oakland, Folsom and Sacramento. Kaiser employs about 183,000 people in California and serves 9.6 million members in the state.
