LA Plaza marks 15 years of Latino history and culture

ABC7 reported Friday that the museum grew from a vision championed by Gloria Molina and Esteban Torres. Its historic campus near El Pueblo and Olvera Street now offers two floors of galleries, educational programs and hands-on activities for families.
Location: 501 N. Main St., Los Angeles
Admission: Free
Hours: Wednesday–Sunday, noon–5 p.m.; last entry at 4:30 p.m.
A community anniversary
The institution describes itself as a cultural and community hub that preserves and shares the histories of Mexicans, Mexican Americans and other Latinos in Southern California.
LA Plaza’s 15th-anniversary quinceañera gala is scheduled for October 10. The museum will also host a free Día de los Muertos Family Day on October 25 from noon to 4 p.m., with performances, workshops and a community ofrenda; advance registration is recommended.
