LAFC parts ways with Marc Dos Santos late in first season

The club did not immediately name an interim coach after dismissing Dos Santos with six regular-season matches remaining.

Los Angeles Football Club announced Sunday night that it had parted ways with head coach Marc Dos Santos late in his first season leading the team. LAFC said it would provide an update on interim coaching plans as it begins a search for a new head coach.

What it means locally

NBC Los Angeles and the Associated Press reported that the decision followed a 1–0 loss at FC Dallas and a stretch in which LAFC won once in nine matches across all competitions. The club stood sixth in the Western Conference at 11–9–8, with six regular-season matches remaining and its next game scheduled for October 10 against Vancouver. Dos Santos, previously an LAFC assistant for four seasons, became the third head coach in club history when he succeeded Steve Cherundolo.
