Los Angeles and Orange County gas prices close in on records

Regular gasoline averaged $6.387 in Los Angeles County and $6.369 in Orange County after 39 consecutive days of increases.

Gasoline prices in Los Angeles and Orange counties moved close to their all-time highs on September 26, City News Service reported through ABC7 Los Angeles. The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular rose 5.1 cents to $6.387 in Los Angeles County, 10.6 cents below its October 2022 record. Orange County’s average increased 4.6 cents to $6.369, 8.9 cents below its record.

Both county averages have risen for 39 consecutive days. The Los Angeles County price is 69.3 cents higher than one month ago and $1.665 above a year ago; Orange County is up 72 cents for the month and $1.677 for the year. AAA attributed the unusual autumn climb to crude-oil costs and volatility around the Strait of Hormuz.
