Metrolink suspends two lines for weekend track work

Orange County and Inland Empire–Orange County trains will not operate October 10–11, and the agency is not providing substitute transportation.

Published October 10, 2026

Metrolink has suspended all weekend service on its Orange County and Inland Empire–Orange County lines while crews complete maintenance and rehabilitation projects. The closure covers Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11.

Lines closed: Orange County and Inland Empire–Orange County

Dates: Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11

Substitute service: No trains or alternate transportation available

Plan another route

Metrolink says Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service will also be affected. Riders should check current operator notices before traveling and arrange another route rather than expecting a replacement bus.

The agency says the full closure is needed for infrastructure work intended to improve long-term safety and reliability. Regular schedules should be confirmed directly with Metrolink before travel resumes.
