Safety enforcement expands
Prosecutors described incidents in Yorba Linda, Orange, Newport Beach, Garden Grove and La Palma. The allegations include permitting underage, unlicensed riders to operate vehicles that prosecutors say exceeded California’s limits for legal e-bikes.
The DA formed its RIDE SAFELY unit in May to review potential charges involving youth e-bike and e-moto cases. CBS Los Angeles independently reported the newly filed cases Wednesday evening.
The charges are accusations. The defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
