Porto’s plans first Inland Empire bakery in Ontario
The family-owned Southern California bakery will anchor a new commercial development near the I-10, bringing its first location to the Inland Empire.
The City of Ontario announced Tuesday that Porto’s Bakery & Café plans to open at the southwest corner of Archibald Avenue and Inland Empire Boulevard. The company says Inland Empire customers have long traveled to its other bakeries, and the Ontario shop will be its first in the region.
Location: Southwest corner of Archibald Avenue and Inland Empire Boulevard
Construction: Expected to begin in 2027
Opening: Projected for 2028
A larger retail project
The bakery is set to anchor an 8.6-acre development with about 50,000 square feet of restaurant, café and retail space in three buildings. Ontario says the plan also includes an outdoor plaza, dining and gathering areas. The city projects hundreds of local jobs but has not yet announced tenant details beyond Porto’s.
