SCE ends wildfire safety shutoffs as customer count returns to zero
Southern California Edison reports that no customers remain in an active Public Safety Power Shutoff and none are under consideration after the region’s Santa Ana wind event.
SCE’s outage dashboard showed zero of its 5 million customers in a current wildfire-safety shutoff and zero being considered for one Sunday evening. The utility cautions that conditions and real-time data can change.
ABC7 reported that electricity had been restored to all customers whose service was cut as a wildfire precaution during the recent hot, windy weather. At the event’s peak, nearly 50,000 customers were without power, according to the station.
Active SCE safety shutoffs: 0 customers
Safety shutoffs under consideration: 0 customers
Utility customers: 5 million

Fire weather eases
The restoration came as Santa Ana winds weakened and red flag warnings expired across much of Southern California. Residents can confirm neighborhood-level interruptions through SCE’s outage map because repair, maintenance or other outages may still occur independently of the safety-shutoff program.
