Metro launches September rail safety campaign

The agency is warning against riding outside trains and crossing tracks unsafely.

Metro said its bilingual messages would appear at select rail stations and bus stops and on A, E and K Line trains. The campaign focuses in part on train surfing, which can cause severe injury or death.

The safety message applies throughout the system: stay behind platform markings, use designated crossings and follow staff instructions.
